About the site
Just a two minute drive from Hadrian's Wall, this site offers easy access to top walking routes and historic attractions. The Roman Army Museum is also only a five minute drive away, with three galleries, a film theatre, and a Roman classroom! For up to five, there are larger, family friendly pods with a fixed double bed and a bench seating area that can be combined to make a single bed and a double sofa bed. Do note, bedding is not included but can be hired as an extra. The pods have a small kitchen area for simple cooking, including a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and sink. They also have a heater and an ensuite toilet with a hand basin, with shared showers located nearby. Outside, you will have a picnic table, with some also including an electric hot tub. The Castle pods offer a luxury stay for adults. Each pod has a double bed and bedding, plus underfloor heating and a comfy lounge area with a sofa, smart TV, wood burner (one bag of coffee logs provided) and a small dining table. For cooking, the kitchen comes with a ceramic hob, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, crockery and utensils. To the back of the pods, you will find a modern ensuite bathroom with a toilet, shower, hand basin and towels. Outside, there is a private decking with a table, chairs, BBQ, fire pit and electric hot tub. The park is also home to a range of camping/touring pitches and other glamping options, including more simple camping pods. Little ones can get to know the animals at the onsite petting farm, where alpacas, goats, Shetland ponies, rabbits, pigs, hens and a donkey can be seen during the twice-daily feeding sessions. There is also a play park and a large ball field for burning off some extra energy. A licensed shop sells everyday essentials, local produce and homemade pizzas on selected Friday evenings during high season. For a little extra relaxation, a sauna is available, while the BBQ hut can be hired for groups of up to 20 people. Dogs are welcome in selected pet friendly glamping pods, with up to two dogs allowed per unit. The onsite dog wash is also handy after muddy walks.
