Just ten minutes outside of Dalbeattie, Wild Oak Woods Eco Campsite offers a peaceful off-grid getaway, ideal for those wanting to switch off. Choose from a range of simple woodland glamping cabins, each with solar lighting and wood burners, plus three have their own private compost loo. Set within a 54 acre nature reserve, guests can explore scenic walking trails, with the beach just a ten minute stroll away too. Dogs are also welcome!

About the site
If you want to go off-grid and unwind in nature, this could be the ideal spot. Surrounded by woodlands and walking trails, with the beach only ten minutes away, it is an ideal location for exploring the landscapes of Dumfries and Galloway. The cabins offer a simple yet cosy getaway, with a wood burner for warmth and 12v solar lighting. Do note, bedding and linen are not provided. The Daisy glamping cabin is set the closest to the facilities and sleeps up to two in a double bed, with a small table and chair. The large cabins include a double bedroom and a double futon bed, whilst the Millie glamping cabin has a bunk bedroom and a double futon bed. Each of the four person cabins also has its own private compost loo just outside, along with log seating. Though the cabins do not have kitchens, there is a communal facilities block which has a fridge, cooker, sink, table, chairs, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and a kettle. Outside there is also a washing up area, cooking shelter and log seating. These facilities are shared with the camping/touring pitches onsite too. Dogs are welcome, with up to two canine companions allowed per cabin. Evenings can be spent enjoying a BBQ, just be sure to place these on one of the designated slabs.
