About the site

Set in a peaceful spot at the foot of Skiddaw, the site is in a brilliant location for exploring the Lake District. It's just ten minutes from Bassenthwaite Lake and only a short 15 minute drive from Keswick and Cockermouth. With walking routes all around, including the Cumbrian Way passing right by the site, it's ideal for keen hikers. The site offers a range of quirky Landpods, all designed for an adventurous glamping stay. Every pod has proper beds with bedding included, solar lighting and a fire pit outside. The smallest option suits two adults with its double bed, small cupboard and waterproof outdoor storage box. For those wanting more space, the dog friendly Wainwrights Den and Foot O'Skiddaw Landpods both sleep up to four with double bunk beds, a seating area, under-seat storage and solar phone charging. Each also has a picnic bench and an outdoor kitchen area with a gas stove, pots, pans and utensils. Foot O'Skiddaw also has extra touches like a wood-burning stove and even a wine rack for cosy evenings in. Please note, towels are not included in any of the pods so be sure to bring along your own. You can also bring along your own BBQ (not disposable), just please ensure it is raised from the ground. Facilities are shared with the camping and touring pitches onsite. These include a toilet and shower block with hot water and coin-operated hair dryers. There's a covered washing-up area, a communal shelter with picnic benches for cooking in bad weather, and a shared fire pit for relaxed evenings. The honesty shop sells basics like eggs from the farm's free-range hens, firewood and marshmallows. Guests also have access to ice-pack freezing, a washing machine, a fenced dog-walking area and space for children to play games.
