Allington Lock Camping and Cabins

Allington Lock Camping and Cabins is a small, waterside campsite by Allington Lock and the River Medway. The cabins offer a cosy, weather-proof alternative to camping with two double beds, electric and outdoor decking areas with a small table and chairs. You will have direct access to Allington Slipway, great for canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. It is also next door to a cosy coffee shop, and a five minute drive to the centre of Maidstone.

Set beside the River Medway and Allington Lock, this friendly campsite offers a peaceful spot by the water. You're just across from a cosy café for tea and cake, and the centre of Maidstone is only five minutes away by car. Whether you're strolling along the river or launching a paddle board from the nearby slipway, it's a great base for waterside adventures. The Scandinavian-style glamping cabins sleep up to four people with two double beds (just bring your own bedding). Inside, you'll find plug points for charging your devices. Outside, there's a private decking area with a small table and chairs, ideal for sitting out and enjoying the views. Shared facilities include toilets, hot showers, and an accessible washroom. Showers are coin-operated (£1 for ten minutes), and there's a BBQ and pizza oven area you can use too. On a rainy day, there's also an undercover picnic space so you can still eat outdoors. Please note, guests are not allowed to have open fires, fire pits or BBQs by their cabin. As well as the cabins, there are eight non electric grass pitches for tents. The cabins are dog friendly, so you can bring up to two dogs with you.
