Set just outside of Shildon and five minutes from the Locomotion rail museum these family run glamping pods are well located for exploring the North Pennines and historic Durham. Enjoy a stay surrounded by nature and the chugging of the steam train on this peaceful family-run estate. There are seven ensuite glamping pods onsite, each set between hedging for privacy as well as three ensuite shepherd's huts and three fully serviced motorhome pitches for those travelling in their home away from home. There is a modern facility block for the camping guests, all other units are self contained. Honey pod is the perfect choice for a romantic getaway, sleeping just two in a fixed double bed. Four of the pods sleep up to four guests with the addition of a double sofa bed in the living area. All bedding is provided. All of the pods feature an open plan interior, plus a small kitchenette with a kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, sink as well as crockery and cutlery. The pods are also heated with a smart TV and free WiFi available. Honey pod has the addition of a dressing table and full length mirror. Each pod has a modern ensuite equipped with a power shower, toilet and sink. Towels are provided for the bathroom. Outside of each pod is a wooden decking with outdoor seating to admire the countryside views, plus a BBQ and fire pit for meals al fresco. Each also has a private, sunken electric hot tub outside too which is the ultimate luxury addition to any holiday in the great outdoors. Unwind under the canopy after a day of walking and wildlife spotting. Aira and Poppy pods are also dog friendly with up to two permitted in each pod. The pods are an ideal spot for a stopover along the A1 or for a longer stay to explore the North Penines and Durham. Guests can fish onsite or enjoy something tasty to eat in the onsite restaurant serving delicious home cooked breakfasts, lunches and dinners - booking is advised!
