About the site

Set on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, this is the perfect base for exploring Southern Scotland with Castle Douglas 20 minutes away and both Woodhall Loch and Loch Ken within easy reach for paddle boarding, fishing and canoeing. There are grass pitches for campers as well as 12 camping pods, each pod has a microwave, toaster, kettle to provide a camping experience with a few home comforts included to lighten the packing! There is a fire pit outside for making the most of the starry night skies. There are four bunk bed pods which have double French doors at the entrance and an open plan interior that sleeps up to four with a bunk bed and two fold out beds. The stargazer and apex pods have a pointed roof and wooden door, these sleep up to five with fold out beds. The pods have metered electric which takes £1 and £2 coins so you can still charge your devices. Bedding is not provided so please bring your own. WiFi is available by the information hut. Facilities are shared with the campers and other pod guests just a short walk away. There are toilets, hot showers and a washing up area. You can also hire bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and fishing equipment or why not sign up to a lesson onsite! Three of the apex pods allow dogs, the rest are dog free. Be sure to pack your blankets, toiletries and a torch!
