About the site
Originally part of the Windsor Forest, this site is set on what was once the Tudor royals' favourite hunting grounds. There are two camping pods onsite, kept simple so you can still feel the joys of staying in the great outdoors. One pod sleeps up to two guests, and the other is for four. The pods have a lockable front door with a glass pane which opens into the pod where you'll find two twin sleeping platforms, and if you are staying in the four person pod, you'll also find a bunk bed at the rear. Bedding and linen are not provided, so you will need to bring your own. You'll also be provided with some equipment so you can make basic meals as there is a fridge, a kettle, a toaster and a microwave in your pod, you will just need to bring your own utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is also a TV besides the front door, so you can tuck up into bed watching your favourite film or TV series. Outside your pod is a small decking area with rails on either side and steps down to a gravel and grass area where you'll find a BBQ. You will need to bring your camp chairs if you want to make the most of the sunshine and your surroundings. There is space for parking on the gravel area beside your pod. Your toilet and shower facilities are located in the shared amenity block just a short walk from the pods, just remember to bring your own towels, toiletries and a torch if you are walking around the site at night. Longmoor Lake is next door, so provided you have a fishing permit and the correct rod license, you're welcome to go fishing. California Country Park is also next door, where you can use the play park and head on the nature trail. The site has plenty of facilities, so you won't have to venture too far. There is a launderette, with space for drying, and a shop stocking the essentials. Up to four dogs are welcome to join you for your stay, just please ensure that they are kept on the lead at all times. Open fires are not permitted but you have a BBQ outside of your pod.
